Growth Markets
New commercial opportunities may emerge from some diverse areas, according to a brief summary of recent global market reports.
For example:
- The December 2010 report ‘India’s Broadband Market – Growth Opportunities’ (Dion Global Solutions) suggests that nearly 40% of Indian households will have broadband connection by 2014, and mobile broadband will drive the growth in the Indian broadband sector.
- The global chemical industry may have a positive future, based in part on economic growth in the emerging economies, according to an August 2011 report from industry experts, titled ‘Specialty Chemicals – A Global Market Overview’. Fast growth is forecast for emerging nations in Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Middle East, Emerging Europe and Latin America, with major growth in China, India and Brazil, and noteworthy growth in countries such as Korea, Singapore and Taiwan.
- According to Select Biosciences, the global pharmaceutical market is expected to reach US$1,020 billion by the end of 2012. “Robust growth in the pharmaceutical markets of emerging world economies has outpaced the overall growth of the global pharmaceutical market,” according to the company’s June 2011 report, ‘Emerging Pharmaceutical Markets 2012’.
