The candidate profile provided by the Managing Director and Human Resources Director indicated the need for an individual that was comparable to those in similar positions with their competitors. The consultants from Key Search People sensed that a hire at this level would not satisfy their needs.

Methodology/Solution:
As Key Search People felt that there was a disconnect between the position profile and the job at hand, we first embarked upon an industry benchmarking study. This study proved to support our thinking and resulted in our approaching the client with a recommendation to raise the profile of the candidate for which they were searching. We were successful in selling the need to upgrade all the way up the line and embarked on a search to identify and recruit a higher level candidate.
