Situation:
A well known pharmaceutical company in Basel, decided in 2003 to rebuild the headquarter site in the city of Basel. A master plan was designed by an architect and professor at the university of Zurich. The client was building a project management team and required a Senior Project Manager.
Assessment:
For this real estate project, the pharmaceutical company installed a specific assessment center with the purpose of assessing all actual and future employee profiles for the different tasks in the project.
Challenge:
MAS had the opportunity to support this company with the assessment, but also with ongoing executive searches for senior project managers, responsible for the project management of the different laboratories and administrative buildings on the site.
Methodology/Solution:
MAS conducted extensive research in the Swiss and German real estate market, focusing especially on important building sites like airports and building initiatives (for example in Berlin) in project management companies working in the pharmaceutical industry. This resulted in the identification of a number of potential candidates for this very interesting campus project.
Candidate:
The successful candidate had an excellent educational base with a combination of degrees in architecture and construction engineering. They led important real estate projects in different areas. They had extensive experience in managing these projects in partnerships between architects, owners and the construction companies.
Post-mortem:
The team has been completed step by step. They are still following needs to enlarge this team. Success in the recruitment of these construction professionals was due to the accurate definition of the target candidate market and the very professional assessment process.
